A long time coming...

This morning Meg and I got to take two of my favorite people to breakfast for a little celebration. Those two people are my Mom & Dad, and that celebration is their 29th wedding anniversary. Yep, tomorrow marks 29 years together!
Their anniversary seems a little extra important this year, not the number, but the relevance. This year is not only their 29th anniversary, but it is also the year that Meg and I, and my sister Alisha get married. As you know Meg and I were married in May, and Alisha will be married in just under a month. So in 2010 we will all have one thing in common, we will all be married.

But, this isn't a post about Me, or Meg, or Alisha... this post is about the greatest parents I've ever had... oh wait. Well you get what I'm saying, I love these guys! My parents have always been there for me, they kept me on track in high school, they forgave me when I strayed off in college, and they continue to support me in whatever I do on a day to day basis. They are great role models, awesome friends, and amazing dinner partners. They are great at baby sitting Gauge, even though G Pop sometimes gets him riled up, and I'm sure they are going to make the best Grandparents ever when the time comes!
In the 22 years they have been my parents... they have taught me more than I could ever even know. They showed me the importance of Christianity, taught me how to treat a girl, helped me convince that girl to spend the rest of her life with me, and have been amazing friends as well as parents the whole time!
Happy Anniversary guys! Love you both so much!

  1. I just finished reading this and though I am crying, my heart is so happy. We are fortunate to have you for our son. You make us proud and always keep us laughing. (Well, most of the time.) I am excited to see what God is going to do with your's and Meg's lives. You are everything, anyone could want in a son. Thank you for this post. It's not every day that a parent gets a thank you.
    Love you, Mom
