Ikea isn't a Trip, it's an Adventure!

So, our latest family outing was another spur of the moment decision that resulted in us driving to Tampa to visit IKEA. Meg had been before and kept telling me how cool it was until finally, we just had to go.

When she kept saying "It's an adventure" it made me a little nervous. But now after making the trip I completely understand. It was a lot of fun to get out as a couple and just brainstorm different ideas for the house. We definitely came home with a pretty big list of wants... But we also came home with a couple cool new things for the house. I had never seen anyone backlight their TV before, but after seeing it in IKEA, I just had too. We also got some under-cabinet lighting for the kitchen. (Which in my opinion turned out great!)

One thing that this trip, along with the blog Young House Love, inspired is a new project in our bedroom. One thing this house is slightly lacking on is closet space, and with an awesome idea shared from YHL we are now planning to use some IKEA cabinetry to make us some extra closet space. Don't worry we'll keep you up to date.
