One year

1 year... 365 days... It doesn't seem possible. This weekend Meg and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary. I guess they say time flies when you're having fun!


Yes this weekend we took off and got away to celebrate our first year of marriage. It was a really nice getaway. We stayed at the same hotel that we spent the first night of our honeymoon, which was very nice! It was nice to be able to just spend some time together away. It was the most beautiful weekend for us at the beach!


Thursday evening coming into town we stopped and had ice cream, then checked into the hotel, took a walk on the beach, just enjoyed the fresh Gulf air! Friday morning we went up the street for breakfast and then we enjoyed the rest of our day out in the sun. We finished off our Friday with dinner at a little pizza place called Taste of Italy, which is also where we shared our first dinner as a married couple 364 days before. It was a great way to think back at the memories of our first night together. Saturday when we got up we got everything packed up and then enjoyed the pool for a couple hours before it was time to check out. Our anniversary weekend getaway was just what we needed, and Longboat Key didn't disappoint.


What do you mean you wanna know about the presents? Geez nosey.... Fine! Nothing too fancy, I got Meg a classical, sappy, sweet, lovey card. Hah, ya right. I obviously found a hilarious card that involved undressing :) and then to make up for that I bought her a Willow Tree statue with the Husband and Pregnant Wife standing together. Meg got me a sweet card, no inappropriateness, :( and then she got me a new game that we both like to play! It was good times!


Overall while I am still having a hard time believing that we've been married an entire year, it was really fun to be able to celebrate our anniversary! And oh yea.. The cake still tasted pretty good. (kind of freaky eating year old cake, but whatever.)
